Superintendent Sandra Smyser to Retire

The Poudre School District Board of Education announced on Dec. 7 that Sandra Smyser will retire from her position as the Superintendent Jan. 8, 2021.

“The board has concluded that a change in leadership is in the best interest of the district,” an email addressed to staff said. In this email Smyser’s achievements were recognized and the district assured the community that the hiring process will be thorough.

Until the job can be filled permanently the board will hire an interim superintendent.

The Board of Education said that staff will be updated as the search for new administration progresses.
