MHS to host Pi Day celebration tomorrow
March 12, 2020
Tomorrow, Math Honor Society will host a Pi Day celebration to educate students on the mathematical constant Pi, the ratio of the diameter to the circumference of a circle.
“We’re trying to encourage people to learn a specific thing about Pi,” math teacher Eric Kohlbrand said. “It also makes a nice little way to land into spring break, and a way to just have fun.”
The event will include a pie-eating contest open to one volunteer from each grade, a contest of listing digits of Pi, and a pie-measuring task, in which students will find Pi by measuring the circumference of a pie.
All activities will occur during common lunch in room L104.
